Weather

Mother Nature 1.  Basement Walls 0.

Windy conditions are persisting.   Today's scheduled concrete delivery is delayed due to 70km per hour winds.  On the bright side it hasn't rained in over a week and things have dried up nicely.

I delivered some supplies this morning and thought to myself  "we should just put a roof on".   I shared with Les and he laughed because he verbalized the same thought during coffee break.  Clearly a massive project!

Playing with Blocks

It has been a week of stacking and fitting ICF for the basement walls.  They are large but light and, ironically, the wind was blowing strong during much of the process.

The walls are braced and the concrete truck is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.  Fingers crossed!  Rain Rain Stay Away!

The floor joists need to sit on concrete, not Styrofoam, so the last few days work has consisted of building these.  Technical term...."header block" or "pain in the ass".  A lot of extra work but necessary.

Away from the building site research is ongoing for kitchen design, appliance sourcing and deck material sourcing in attempt to lower the budget.  There are too many choices out there!
